Position: Microscope Repair – Field Service Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Evaluate, test, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on histology (hospital laboratory equipment) and microscopes at customer sites as required by service contract or purchase order
• Disassemble, clean, lubricate, reassemble, make mechanical adjustments and optical alignments on various brands and models of histology laboratory equipment and microscopes

EXPERIENCE

• Experience with precision mechanical assemblies
• Technical orientation and strong mechanical aptitude
• Some knowledge and experience with trouble shooting electrical circuits
• General trouble shooting skills
• Computer literate, Microsoft Windows, able to load and set up applications
• Good customer relations and communication skills
• Self-motivated and organized
• Valid driver’s license, excellent drivers record

HELPFUL BUT NOT NECESSARY

• Basic knowledge of histology laboratory equipment and microscopes
• Basic understanding of Histology / Microscopy
• EPA Class 1 refrigeration license

EDUCATION

• AS technical degree (mechanical/electrical) or trade school equivalent or equivalent field / life / work experience

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years’ experience as a field service technician
