X-Y stages with superior rigidity and precision
The Semprex K-Series Coaxial Knob Measuring X-Y Stage (pictured at right, lower) is a high quality stage for manual measuring applications with 1 micron encoder resolution. Its thin cross-section (0.96″ ? 1.48″) allows this stage to easily adapt to most microscopes, including Leica, Mitutoyo, Nikon, Olympus, and Zeiss. A proprietary KORE-FRAME links X-Y axes in a single piece of metal for superior orthogonality and flatness ? compared with other stages that use four extra components bolted together and are subject to assembly inaccuracies.
Unique hardened steel friction drive for backlash-free operation outlasts rack and pinion systems. Bearing slides are constructed from single-piece hardened steel and use cross-roller bearings for extra precision and rigidity ? compared with other stages that use split triangular wires. Repeatability of the K-Series is within 2 microns, and linear accuracy is laser calibrated to less than 1 micron error in 5000. Flatness and straightness are better than 1 in 5000; orthogonality exceeds 1 in 10,000.
The KP Series Manual X-Y Post Stage (pictured at right, upper left) is designed for precise manual motion applications on inverted and upright microscopes. The stage is mounted on a post at one side of the microscope for simple installation and unobstructed operation of microscope controls, high-power objectives, and transmitted and reflected lighting. The post mount provides quick vertical adjustment and X-Y alignment of the stage.
A special hardened-steel friction drive provides backlash-free operation and is proven to last much longer than rack and pinion systems. An extended-length flexible knob enables ergonomic control. Bearing slides made from a single piece of hardened steel use precision ball bearings for smooth, free-running, consistent travel (while other stages use split triangular wires). Cross-roller bearings are available for extra precision and rigidity.
The KM-Series Manual Micrometer X-Y Measuring Stage (pictured at right, upper right) is a low-cost precision measuring stage. Special springs pre-load the micrometer heads to provide uniform backlash-free operation. High-quality Mitutoyo digital or vernier micrometer heads are also available.
