Servicing microscopes of all types McBain services all makes, models and types of microscopes: compound, stereo, inverted, manual, automated, fluorescence, forensic, toolmakers, comparators, imaging/measuring and more.

Also histology and other instruments We service many other types of precision optical and laboratory instruments, such as histology equipment: microtomes, cryostats, tissue processors, stainers, embedding stations, cover slippers, cassette printers, slide printers, water baths, etc.

Also Z-columns and stages McBain provides service for most makes and models of Z-columns and X-Y stages: replacing rails and bearings, regrinding rail beds, reworking or replacing focus mechanisms, calibrating stages, setting up and cleaning leadscrews, reanodizing and nickel plating X-Y stage plates, upgrading manual to motorized, anything that is required.

Extensive parts inventory McBain maintains an extensive inventory of parts and components for a wide spectrum of instruments, including new and vintage components for many models that are no longer supported by the manufacturers. We also stock a broad inventory of microscope lamps and bulbs. And in our custom machine shop we can create custom parts, lighting, mounting and fixtures whenever needed.

Calibration and ISO 9001 certification All of McBain’s calibrations conform to ANSI / NCSL Z540-1. McBain’s master stage micrometer calibration is traceable to NIST to 0.00001” (10 micro inches). And McBain Systems is ISO 9001 certified.
